Important Changes to the ECL Exam Structure from August 2026
From August 2026, ECL examinations will follow a new modular system. Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking will be treated as independent modules, each requiring a minimum score of 60% to be successfully completed.
Candidates may register either for a complex exam or for any combination of individual modules. Modules passed within the same examination period will be listed on one certificate. If all four modules are successfully completed within one year, candidates may request an overall certificate.
Please note that these new regulations apply only to examinations taken from August 2026 onwards and cannot be applied retrospectively.
Before registering, candidates are kindly asked to read the updated ECL Exam Regulations and ensure that all intended modules are selected within the same registration.
